30 Jun New Service: Corrective Makeup
At INTERLOCKS, we’re all about the transformative power of cosmetics. Makeup is what you make it. And honestly, some days facing the world is a little easier with your best face on.
But it’s not always that easy. Sometimes skin is uneven, or red, or scarred. Accidents, and burns, and surgeries can happen. And there is often an emotional impact of an unexpected change in appearance. Being in control of your look by softening the appearance of scars, burns, and other skin issues can be a healthy step in your healing and self-empowerment journey.
We are very pleased to announce our new Corrective Makeup services, and we have the perfect woman for the job: Robin Liebowitz, a longtime INTERLOCKS Makeup Artist with more than 25 years’ experience. Every week, Robin hosts a makeup clinic at Shriner’s Hospital for Children and Mass General Hospital to help patients reduce the appearance of scars using specialized makeup. The makeup can help patients to gain confidence and feel comfortable in their new skin. Now, she’s bringing those skills to INTERLOCKS.
Our Corrective Makeup service begins with a one-on-one consultation, followed by a makeup lesson. The main focus is on the skin—making uneven textures, scars, or discoloration appear smoother and softer, using specialized makeup that is durable and waterproof. Robin can also provide corrective makeup tutorials for eyebrows, neck and chest, or hands.
Corrective Makeup is not about hiding your face or skin from the world. It’s about taking back control of your appearance and self confidence. Even the makeup itself won’t sit heavily on your face like a mask — it’s a special formulation, but has a similar feel to a typical makeup foundation. For Robin, it’s all about increasing confidence and helping clients feel good. “All I care about is the smile at the end – that’s what it’s all about. I am just making it a little bit easier to face the world.”
Come in for a complimentary consultation to determine if Corrective Makeup is right for you. A Corrective Makeup application is a 30-minute service and costs $49. Call us at 978-465-3010 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Though her original career was in special education, Robin has been interested in makeup for as long as she can remember. While working at a pharmacy, she helped customers cover scarring and port-wine stain birthmarks, which led to her interest in corrective makeup. She took a Reconstructive Makeup course, became certified, and began working with patients at Shriner’s Hospital in 2001. Robin also specializes in wedding and special occasion makeup services, and has been a Makeup Artist at INTERLOCKS for more than 11 years.
