INTERLOCKS Master Colorist + Senior Stylist Michelle A. recently attended a New Cutting Trends class with none other than legendary stylist Vivienne Mackinder. Vivienne has won the North American Hair awards seven times, is a former creative director for Vidal Sassoon, has worked as lead hairdresser for top designers during New York Fashion Week, and is a sought-after celebrity stylist and top salon educator.

The two-day class, held at Arrojo Advanced Academy in NYC, covered new razor cutting bob techniques for balance and proportion, creative styling and finishing, and consultations for the best cut based on face shape. “The razor techniques are perfect for pixie cuts, asymmetric bobs, or a modern shag with bangs,” Michelle said. The shag has certainly come back into style — as Michelle says, “what’s old is new again!”
