16 May Our Salon Apprentice Program
What is the INTERLOCKS Salon Apprentice Program?
The Salon Apprentice Program is an intermediate step between graduating cosmetology school and entering the workforce as a stylist. This training program molds new talent, and provides them with the guidance, education, and mentorship to hone their skills and develop a clientele prior to taking the floor.
Our apprentices do not just wash hair and sweep. They are under the mentorship of Master Stylists Alisson (Director of Salon Assistants) and Andrea (Director of Salon Education), who create a curriculum of both traditional classes and hands-on experience, and tailor the coursework as necessary.
Through this program and beyond, INTERLOCKS apprentices and stylists are able to receive further education on everything from corrective color, updos, men’s cuts, balayage, extensions, and everywhere in between. This can mean traveling to attend conferences and events, learning from industry educators that travel to us, or taking classes hosted right here by our own Senior and Master Stylists. Our Salon Apprentice Program has resulted in 70% of our current stylist staff.
Why work for INTERLOCKS?
The education doesn’t stop after graduating the Salon Apprentice Program. INTERLOCKS is committed to continuing education and advanced techniques in the latest trends, styles and services in the beauty industry.
Additionally, we’ve worked hard to foster a team-based culture in which our professionals work together to share techniques, collaborate, inspire, and create an ideal salon and spa environment. From this culture of teamwork and friendship, to the modern interiors and latest technologies, to the idyllic location in Newburyport, INTERLOCKS is a great place to work. Interested? Apply now!
